Genesis M. Adarlo, Esq. finished at 11th place in the 1998 Bar Examinations after having earned his Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of the Philippines. His early experience in the legal profession include being a Research Assistant at Camacho and Associates from December 1996 until May 1997, a Legislative Staff Officer at the Adoptive Families Foundation in the summers of 1996 and 1997, a Graduate Assistant at the Institute of Human Rights of his alma mater, the University of the Philippines Law Center, from July 1997 until June 1998, and a Legal Consultant at Pinnacle Consulting Inc. from January to April 1997. He then further honed his skills as a lawyer as an Associate at Poblador Bautista & Reyes Law Offices from 1998 until 2001. He likewise served as Special Legal Counsel for the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) from November 2001 until June 2003. He then served as consultant for the Department of Health (DOH) from July 2003 until February 2011, and then became Corporate Secretary of the Philhealth from March 2011 until November 2015.
Since then, he has provided general and corporate counseling for various companies engaged in different fields ranging from real estate development, information technology, copyright, trademark and patent licensing to public transportation, manufacturing, and wholesale distributorship, among others. In addition, he had been engaged in a wide array of litigation practice which includes civil, criminal, administrative, and commercial litigation. He has also been at the forefront of the enforcement of intellectual property rights, taking an active involvement in the fight against the infringement of intellectual property, from the initiation of investigations into counterfeit claims to the application and implementation of search warrants and subsequent seizure and prosecution thereof. With these experiences, he has provided strategic direction as Senior Partner of the firm.
At present, apart from being a Senior Partner of the firm, he is the President of Total Research and Para-legal Services, Inc. (TRAPS).
